This book is about getting exactly the sales numbers you want with honor, in the spirit of service, with ease and grace, and in a way that feeds your soul. You take the stress out of selling, and the uncertainty out of your results. The six simple, powerful steps are based on honoring yourself, honoring what you sell, and honoring others—whether or not they buy—and include how to:
“Sell yourself” with power and grace
Make the “ask” with ease and affinity
Handle objections while staying connected to people
Dissolve the mental chatter that keeps you from enjoying and succeeding at sales
Get the results you promise, every time
Discover your own natural enthusiasm and renew it at will
This book is for people who want to fuse great sales results with personal integrity, authenticity, and relationship selling, including: coaches, consultants, and other professionals; entrepreneurs and fundraisers; sales teams; network marketers, and anyone who wants to bring others on board with their product, service, project or vision.

Praise for The Soul of Selling
“If you do what Carol Costello says, you will be successful, and enjoy the process. Whether you are fundraising for your child’s school, a professional salesperson, or a small business owner, this book will help you clarify and achieve your goals.” — Carolyn Ingram, Ed.D., Psychologist, Author and Coach
“This is how selling should be; this is how selling can be; this is certainly how selling will be going forward for those who wish to make a successful career.” – Aaron J. Webber, Co-CEO and President of Unicity
“This is cutting edge…and I’ve read them all! Ms. Costello has turned up the heat on selling techniques that will change the way I do business. I feel a new sense of ease already, and can’t wait to utilize these techniques in my day to day interactions. Excellent read, too!” — Tom LeNoble, Sales and Service Executive
“I love this book! I am one to avoid all activity related to selling ANYTHING. This book helped me see the value that a salesperson IS to people. And what a fun read! I’ve given this book as gifts to all sorts of “sales” people: a soccer mom, a President/CEO for a nonprofit, and an attorney. There are good tips for those in all walks of life.” — Christine Schmoeckel, Chief Information Officer
“I read plenty of business books in my job, and I can confidently say that this little book is one of the more profound works I’ve encountered on business, selling, and life. Few of us are aware of the baggage we carry around about sales, marketing, and success. Carol Costello has opened my eyes and given me an entirely new way to achieve success without selling my soul. This book is as much about being a good person as it is about being successful. If you’ve even thought for a second that the two are mutually exclusive, buy this book!” — “Book Guy” Amazon reviewer
WRITING THE SOUL OF SELLING
I developed the Soul of Selling method to meet my own needs. Although I’ve always made my living as a writer, I helped put three thriving personal growth companies on the map as their first Sales Director.
I am not a natural sales person; I learned by stepping in potholes and then refining the process to make sales a source of joy and fulfillment, rather than something I dreaded. I wanted to produce extraordinary results, and not feel fed up or drained at the end of the day. I wanted to know that people were better off when they walked away from our conversation than they were when we started talking.
I needed a way to feel good about selling, and The Soul of Selling is what I created. I worked with integrity, could be myself, and got dramatic results. I could finally relax, knowing I was doing something good in the world, and at the same time generating more sales and growing as a person.
